There’s no denying that candles make great gifts – unless you’re buying for a toddler. In that case, it might not be that great of an idea. Most people, however, enjoy candles and like them even more when they don’t have to pay for them. While a pack of plain white tea-candles may be a great gift to some, if you put a little thought into your gift, you can choose a candle that’s really special.
These can be expensive if you get a large one, but they’re solid and send a message of solidarity. They’re available in a multitude of colors and fragrances, the meanings of which is another article entirely. For the most part, however, if you want to give a friend or work acquaintance a candle, a pillar candle is probably the best way to go. A bigger one means more, obviously.
Giving these candles as a gift will send romantic undertones, which may or may not be what’s wanted. Floating candles are great for a lot of reasons – soaking in a hot tub for example – but they might not be the best candle gift for a friend or relative. That said, if you want to give someone a subtle message, these might be a great semi-romantic gift to give them.
These can be expensive, but they’re really great because after the candle is gone, the person still has the jar which can be used in a variety of ways – potpourri for example. There’s also a wide variety of candles, meaning there’s likely a jar candle for anyone on your gift list. As with other candles, there are also a variety of colors and smells available.
If you have someone who is elderly on your list – or someone who lives in a dorm – a flameless candle might be the perfect gift to give. They give the ambiance and sometimes the smell of a candle without the risk of starting a fire. They’re not for everyone, but for some people, they may make a good gift.
Candles as Gifts
There are many other types of candles available out there. For example, Woodwick candles are very popular right now. They offer a crackling sound thanks to an actual wooden wick. They’re available in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and fragrances. In addition to WoodWick candles, there are many other brands and types of candles that may make the perfect gift.
Spending a little time finding a great candle can make your gift that much better. There are tons of plain, ordinary, mass-produced candles out there. Sometimes finding the perfect gift for someone else is actually more fun and rewarding than receiving a gift. Finding a candle that’s special or unique is what gift-giving is all about. With a little work, you’re sure to find a perfect candle no matter who is going to get the gift.
